Director Software Engineer (AI)

Salary: $139,400–$230,000 annual base salary

What you will do

• Design and deliver production-grade harness capabilities for generative AI and AWS applications.
• Drive architecture and system design for agentic components across multiple engineering teams.
• Advance enterprise standards for source code management, testing, CI/CD, and modern engineering practices.
• Improve test automation, observability, distributed tracing, and production quality.
• Identify and resolve cross-team dependencies and delivery bottlenecks.
• Mentor software engineers, lead technical conversations, and translate technical direction into measurable business outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related STEM field, or equivalent education and experience.
• At least 6 additional years of software engineering experience, including production delivery of AI solutions at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and experience with TypeScript for AI integrations.
• Experience building, deploying, and evaluating generative AI applications, including orchestration, tool interfaces, context and memory management, and guardrails.
• Experience with AWS or Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform or CDK, and CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
• Experience designing and maintaining secure, distributed, production-grade applications and working with agentic runtimes such as AWS AgentCore.

Nice to have

• Experience with agentic coding tools and a practical understanding of their strengths and limitations.
• SME-level depth across multiple technical disciplines and experience becoming productive in unfamiliar codebases.
