Installation Technician (Audiovisual)

What you will do

• Install displays, projectors, loudspeakers, microphones, equipment racks, cabling, and other audiovisual systems.
• Terminate and test copper and fiber-optic cables, label cabling, and troubleshoot installation issues.
• Build and wire custom systems from engineering drawings and support rack staging, grounding, and power distribution.
• Read functional design drawings, cable riser diagrams, and architectural drawings to complete installations.
• Coordinate with project managers, site superintendents, clients, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Maintain tools, vehicles, materials, documentation, job-site cleanliness, and daily project records.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience as an associate technician, fabrication technician, or in a related industry.
• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license and compliance with company insurance requirements.
• Knowledge of audiovisual and networking equipment, low-voltage electrical concepts, basic carpentry, and installation practices.
• Safe and proficient use of power tools, with the ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical problems.
• Ability to work on construction sites, travel frequently, work overtime when required, climb ladders, and lift or move materials up to 40 pounds.

Nice to have

• AVIXA CTS certification.
• OSHA 30 certification, preferably NYC OSHA 30.
• Additional certifications relevant to the technology focus.
