Senior Systems Engineer (CDP)

Location: US-Remote

Salary: $120,000–$145,000 annually

What you will do

• Lead planning and deployment of the Cloud Data Pipeline in U.S. Coast Guard-designated cloud environments.
• Implement and maintain data ingestion and data-sharing capabilities between source systems, recipient systems, and the CDP.
• Plan scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to preserve pipeline availability and operational readiness.
• Provide technical oversight for long-term sustainment, modernization, configuration management, and performance tuning.
• Ensure implementation, maintenance, security, and lifecycle activities follow U.S. Coast Guard standards.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience supported by a high school diploma and 9+ years of experience, or equivalent experience.
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification in good standing, such as Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA-Security, GICSP, GSEC, CND, or SSCP.
• Advanced hands-on programming and scripting experience in Java, .NET, or Python.
• Strong Linux programming and system administration experience.
• Production experience with the Confluent platform and knowledge of Apache Kafka for enterprise data streaming.
• Active Secret clearance required. Must also complete the U.S. Coast Guard Privileged User Management Program process to obtain an RBAC administrative account.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting U.S. Coast Guard or Department of Homeland Security IT programs.
• Familiarity with federal enterprise cloud architectures, AWS or Microsoft Azure, and pipeline automation.
• Experience with Terraform, Ansible, Docker, or Kubernetes.
