Head of Credit Hire

TL;DR

Head of Credit Hire (Claims Leadership/AI): Leading and transforming Credit Hire, Intervention, Admin and Non-Report operations across a large claims function with an accent on customer outcomes, indemnity control and operational performance. Focus on developing litigation and intervention strategies, applying analytics and AI, managing complex stakeholder dependencies, and delivering technology-enabled change.

Location: Liverpool or Sevenoaks, UK; 3 days onsite and 2 days remote per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm, 37.5 hours per week. Visa sponsorship is not available; applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa.

Salary: £63,774–£79,228 plus a 20% annual bonus paid quarterly.

What you will do

• Lead the Admin, Non-Report, Intervention and Credit Hire teams across a large, layered operation.
• Own operational performance, resource planning, governance, service standards and indemnity spend.
• Develop Credit Hire and Intervention strategies aligned with the GTA, case law, industry protocols and commercial objectives.
• Partner with Legal, Fraud, Analytics, Reserving, suppliers and claims leadership to improve claims outcomes.
• Build a high-performance culture through coaching, management development, succession planning and senior leader oversight.
• Champion AI, automation, advanced analytics and technology-enabled change across the function.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading large operational teams through layered management structures.
• Extensive technical knowledge of Credit Hire, Intervention, associated litigation strategies, the GTA and relevant case law.
• Experience managing significant indemnity spend, claims inflation, reserving principles and claims analytics.
• Strong strategic planning, commercial awareness, analytical decision-making and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with Legal, Fraud, Analytics, Reserving and supplier partners.
• Right to work in the UK is required; visa sponsorship is not available.
