TL;DR
Program Manager 2 - Test & Support Equipment (Defense Systems): Leading the planning, development, sustainment, and delivery of test and support equipment for the Navy SSP Trident II D5LE and D5LE2 guidance programs with an accent on cost, schedule, technical performance, and customer alignment. Focus on managing complex defense programs, integrating mechanical and electrical ground support equipment, controlling risks and suppliers, and maintaining execution across the full product lifecycle.

Location: Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Secret security clearance is required and must be obtained and maintained. Travel of up to 25% is expected.

Salary: $100,000–$275,000 USD base salary.

What you will do

  • Lead strategy, planning, execution, and sustainment for the Test and Support Equipment program area supporting D5LE and D5LE2 guidance systems.
  • Manage program cost, schedule, technical performance, milestones, resources, and performance measurement baselines.
  • Coordinate internal teams, suppliers, the U.S. Navy, and external stakeholders to align requirements and deliverables.
  • Identify and address program risks, issues, opportunities, quality requirements, and supply chain performance.
  • Lead customer reviews, contract activities, reporting, negotiations, proposals, and business growth initiatives.
  • Provide leadership oversight, develop talent, and foster an inclusive, collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional project or program management experience in the commercial or defense industry; 10 years of relevant experience is desired.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, science, or a related technical field; an engineering or science degree is preferred.
  • Experience managing government programs with direct customer interfaces and executing programs through complete product lifecycles.
  • Advanced knowledge of program management practices, including EVMS, integrated master plans and schedules, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Previous experience developing specialized test and support equipment and integrating and testing relevant systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret government security clearance.

Nice to have

  • Experience building relationships with organizational leaders and developing data-driven insights for strategic goals.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications and continuous improvement in matrixed environments.
