What you will do

• Lead and sustain the facility’s Safety, Health, and Environmental program in partnership with regional and facility leadership.
• Maintain compliance with OSHA 1910/1926 requirements, permits, company standards, and applicable environmental regulations.
• Monitor safety performance through KPIs, audits, inspections, field observations, and corrective action plans.
• Investigate accidents, near misses, first-aid cases, vehicle incidents, and contractor incidents using root cause analysis.
• Manage employee, contractor, and temporary-worker safety training, qualifications, and compliance.
• Coordinate occupational health programs, safety committees, environmental compliance activities, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent industrial experience may be considered.
• At least 2–4 years of occupational health and safety experience, preferably in heavy industrial, manufacturing, power generation, utility, chemical processing, recycling, or materials recovery environments.
• Working knowledge of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and applicable state safety regulations.
• Experience supporting operations and maintenance activities in an industrial facility.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces, wear a full-face respirator, lift up to 50 pounds, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Nice to have

• Professional safety certification such as ASP, CSP, OHST, or CHST.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
