Senior Manager, Acceptance Development (Payments)

Location: Bucharest, Romania; at least 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Drive acceptance growth initiatives across Romania, Croatia, Slovenia, and Bulgaria.
• Build and manage relationships with acquirers, payment service providers, merchants, fintechs, and other ecosystem partners.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize business opportunities, including cross-selling and upselling hirify.global products and Value-Added Services.
• Develop business cases, commercial agreements, action plans, and measurable outcomes for strategic acceptance initiatives.
• Advise clients and partners on acquiring, merchant acceptance, transaction flows, and emerging acceptance solutions.
• Monitor market trends, competitors, and payment technologies while managing multiple projects and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is advantageous.
• Strong experience in merchant acceptance, acquiring, merchant services, payments, financial services, consulting, or business development.
• Deep understanding of acquirers, PSPs, merchants, payment facilitators, acceptance technologies, transaction flows, and third-party partners.
• Demonstrated ability to develop acceptance growth strategies, analyze market opportunities, and deliver measurable commercial results.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation, storytelling, communication, and stakeholder-influencing skills, including engagement with executive and C-level audiences.
• Fluent English communication skills are required; willingness to travel across the cluster and wider European region is required as business needs demand.

• Knowledge of hirify.global products, acceptance solutions, transaction processing, merchant analytics, risk, compliance, and interchange management.
• Additional local language skills.
• Advanced degree, MBA, Excel experience, and strong PowerPoint skills.
