Director, Business Consulting – Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA)

Location: Tokyo, Japan; at least 3 days in the office

What you will do

• Lead consulting engagements from opportunity identification and proposal development through delivery and executive presentation.
• Advise senior client stakeholders and support strategic decision-making across growth, transformation, innovation, customer experience, and digital initiatives.
• Structure complex business challenges through data-driven analysis, strategic problem solving, and business case development.
• Manage cross-functional and cross-regional project teams, including planning, stakeholder alignment, risk management, and delivery quality.
• Collaborate with hirify.global product, sales, data science, and regional teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
• Coach team members and contribute to business development, thought leadership, consulting methodologies, and practice growth.

Requirements

• Fluent Japanese and business-level English proficiency.
• 12+ years of experience in strategy consulting, management consulting, corporate strategy, business planning, business transformation, or a related field.
• Experience leading complex client engagements and managing senior stakeholder relationships.
• Experience managing cross-functional and cross-regional initiatives in a matrixed organization.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, problem-solving, communication, storytelling, executive presentation, and commercial skills.
• Leadership experience coaching and developing high-performing teams, with a strong business development mindset.

Nice to have

• Experience in payments, banking, fintech, financial services, technology, or digital commerce.
• Experience leading business or digital transformation and innovation initiatives.
• Background in product strategy, customer experience design, go-to-market strategy, or PMO engagements.
• Familiarity with analytics, AI, and data-driven business models.
• Experience working in global and highly matrixed organizations.
