Director, VCA Implementation Services (VIS)

Location: Mexico City, Mexico; at least 3 days per week in the office

What you will do

• Drive the consulting and implementation strategy in Mexico and capitalize on regional opportunities.
• Lead implementation engagements end to end, from scoping and solution design through go-live, adoption, and value realization.
• Act as the senior escalation authority and executive sponsor for complex, high-risk, and strategic client programs.
• Deliver portfolio diagnostics, authorization optimization, digital product and marketing assessments, product roadmaps, and customer-service process improvements.
• Partner with sales, marketing, risk, innovation, and regional teams to strengthen client relationships and improve payment portfolio performance.
• Lead, coach, recruit, onboard, and retain Implementation Analysts, Managers, Senior Consultants, and Project Leads.

Requirements

• 10+ years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or 8+ years with an advanced degree, or 3+ years with a PhD.
• 5+ years of experience in the payments industry, preferably managing card portfolios or payments-related consulting engagements.
• Strong knowledge of payment schemes, payment products, processes, and card lifecycle management.
• Expertise in project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, and hybrid approaches, with experience using MS Project, Smartsheet, or Jira.
• Experience managing complex cross-functional projects and leading teams in matrixed organizations.
• Fluent English and Spanish required.

Nice to have

• 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent advanced-degree experience.
• Degree in engineering, economics, computer science, business administration, finance, or another quantitative field.
• PMP certification or a relevant payments certification.
• Experience with AI tools, automation platforms, and GenAI-enabled delivery workflows.
