Senior Strategic Buyer

Location: Bornem, Belgium. Dutch speaking required.

Salary: 80,250 – 112,350 EUR per year

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end indirect procurement activities in Bornem and provide backup for the site in Colmar, France.
• Manage diverse spend categories including Professional Services, Facility Management, IT, HR, Marketing, and Capex.
• Drive strategic sourcing initiatives, encompassing tendering, negotiation, and contracting for complex categories.
• Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and sustainability standards.
• Deliver cost savings and value-creation targets through structured sourcing and demand management.
• Lead and develop the operational buyer in Bornem to foster a high-performance culture.

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years of experience in indirect procurement within chemicals, pharmaceuticals, engineering, or manufacturing.
• Strong expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiation, and category management.
• Proven ability to operate within a matrixed global organization with strong stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in procurement systems such as SAP and Ariba.
• Postgraduate degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, or Business.
• Business-fluent English and Dutch are required.

• Engineering background.
• Fluency in French.
