Senior Automation Engineer I

Location: Vacaville, California, United States; fully site based

Salary: $107,250–$178,750 annual base salary, plus performance-related bonus

What you will do

• Execute automation projects and roadmap initiatives supporting Cell Culture Plant 1 and Cell Culture Plant 2.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and optimize MCS, DCS, PLC, VSC, and field I/O systems while keeping them in a qualified state.
• Support Make Assess Release activities, capital projects, technology transfers, commissioning, and validation.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, process science, validation, and QA teams to implement automation solutions.
• Develop and review system requirements, control designs, technical drawings, scope definitions, and change-control assessments.
• Perform coding, debugging, startup testing, peer reviews, software approvals, discrepancy investigations, and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field preferred.
• Experience supporting testing, startup, commissioning, validation, and change-control activities for automation systems.
• Ability to maintain and troubleshoot PLC, DCS, and field I/O systems in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across operational and technical functions.
• Ability to adapt to changing operational requirements and prioritize key deliverables.
• Must work fully onsite in Vacaville, California.
