Controls & Automation Technician (Industrial Automation)

Location: New Albany, Ohio, United States; onsite work in manufacturing, warehouse, and production environments

Salary: $94,000–$156,000 annual national target base pay; $104,000–$173,000 for California and the New York metro area

What you will do

• Design, install, program, troubleshoot, and improve PLC, VFD, HMI, and process control systems.
• Diagnose control system failures and implement permanent corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Provide first-line automation support for production issues and recommend equipment and process improvements.
• Perform and support preventive maintenance while ensuring safe and efficient production operations.
• Manage assigned automation and controls projects and coordinate with external vendors and technical representatives.
• Train maintenance and engineering personnel and support mechanics and technicians with controls troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technology.
• At least 5 years of industrial maintenance experience focused on control system development, installation, troubleshooting, and automation support.
• PLC programming and troubleshooting experience, preferably with Allen-Bradley or Siemens systems.
• Experience with PC-based HMI development, industrial automation, systems integration, PLC hardware, safety relays, and process controls.
• Knowledge of 480VAC power systems, 24VDC control circuits, electrical engineering fundamentals, mechanical systems, and controls engineering.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States; immigration sponsorship and support, including Form I-983 STEM OPT training plans, are not available.
