Systems Engineer, Level 3 (MES)

Location: On-site in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, United States. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families.

What you will do

• Administer, monitor, and maintain manufacturing execution systems based on Emerson Syncade or equivalent platforms.
• Support batch record execution, electronic work instructions, and material tracking in MES environments.
• Coordinate MES patching, upgrades, change control, and system validation testing.
• Act as the technical point of contact for MES incidents and collaborate with production, automation engineering, and quality teams to minimize downtime.
• Maintain connectivity between MES, DCS, analytical systems, and Rockwell or Siemens PLC platforms using middleware such as Kepware and OPC Router.
• Troubleshoot data flows, perform queries, manage vendor tickets, lead root cause analysis, provide 24/7 on-call support, and maintain system documentation and compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 3–5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience administering Windows Server, Active Directory, and SQL Server.
• Experience with Windows services, virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V, and platforms such as Emerson Syncade and OSIsoft PI.
• Proficiency in PowerShell and Visual Basic, with knowledge of Kepware, FactoryTalk, OPC Router, and DCOM/OPC configurations.
• Experience in validated GxP environments, change control, and relevant technical certifications.
