Silicon Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, New York City, or Seattle; hybrid work with at least 25% office attendance required. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible roles and candidates.

Salary: $320,000–$485,000 USD annually.

What you will do

• Contribute to end-to-end silicon program strategy, specifications, execution, and technical standards.
• Write coherent specifications and interface definitions as chip architecture develops.
• Make decisions on technology and IP selection, build-versus-buy-versus-license strategy, and design ownership.
• Partner with inference, performance, kernel, infrastructure, and hardware systems teams on hardware-software co-design and integration.
• Build AI-assisted workflows for design, verification, infrastructure, or physical design activities.
• Support first-silicon bring-up and cross-domain debugging.

Requirements

• Deep hands-on expertise in at least one silicon domain, such as front-end design, verification, physical design, design for test, analog and mixed-signal, foundry technology, design infrastructure, or packaging and signal/power integrity.
• Direct personal contribution to silicon that taped out and shipped, with detailed ownership of the work.
• Working fluency across adjacent silicon domains and the ability to assess chip-level trade-offs.
• Experience reviewing work from ASIC houses, IP vendors, foundries, or test partners and maintaining a technical quality bar.
• Experience making directional technical decisions, using AI coding tools, and communicating across teams with high autonomy.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or experience in a relevant field.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning accelerators, high-performance computing, or large high-bandwidth designs.
• Experience founding or joining an early-stage silicon team and establishing flows, methodologies, or tooling.
• Experience with hardware-software co-design and compiler, kernel, or runtime teams.
• Familiarity with chip-package-system interfaces, memory subsystems, interconnect, numerics, or low-power design.
• Experience building AI-assisted design, verification, or physical design flows.
