Associate Field Engineer (Safety Certification)

What you will do

• Conduct safety and non-safety certification inspections and field evaluations.
• Analyze and evaluate test results against applicable requirements and determine compliance.
• Review manufacturers' programs of production, inspection, and shipping to ensure compliance.
• Communicate with manufacturers, customers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction to resolve technical issues.
• Use technical instruments such as micrometers, voltmeters, and ammeters to perform inspections.
• Document examination variations and test results using appropriate UL forms.

Requirements

• University Degree or Equivalent Technical Certification in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Physics.
• Generally no directly related experience or less than 1 year of experience.
• General electronics background and strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read schematic diagrams.
• Must be based in or relocate to the Austin, TX area for daily client visits.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally and work at heights.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for client-interfacing.

Nice to have

• Experience in Field Engineering, Compliance, or Quality Engineering.
• ASQ certification.
• Experience with UL Standards, 508A, and Industrial Control Panels.
• Lightning Protection experience.
