TL;DR

Compliance Specialist (Manufacturing): Supporting the Compliance Officer in maintaining regulatory, safety, and certification standards for industrial products with an accent on technical documentation, certification workflows, and cross-jurisdictional compliance. Focus on managing engineering change processes, coordinating with third-party certification bodies, and ensuring global regulatory alignment across North American and European markets.

Location: Must be based in the US, with up to 20% travel required for site visits and testing.

What you will do

  • Maintain product compliance documentation for North American and European markets.
  • Coordinate third-party certification activities with notified bodies and certification authorities.
  • Manage the compliance interface within Engineering Change Request (ECR) and Engineering Change Notice (ECN) workflows.
  • Ensure accurate labeling, nameplate documentation, and regulatory ratings for all shipped units.
  • Support manufacturing site quality reviews and self-audit processes.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to resolve documentation gaps and ensure regulatory alignment.

Requirements

  • Must be based in the US.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, or Quality Management.
  • 2–5 years of professional experience in product compliance or quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of UL 508A, ETL listing processes, and CE marking requirements (EN 60335).
  • Familiarity with RoHS, REACH, and Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) frameworks.
  • Proficiency in PLM systems (e.g., Arena) and Microsoft Office.

Nice to have

  • Master's degree in Regulatory Affairs, Engineering, or Quality Management.
  • Professional certifications such as RAC or CQE.
  • Experience with ATEX directives or data center cooling industry standards.
  • Working knowledge of a European language, particularly Spanish.
