What you will do

• Develop and maintain scalable backend services and high-performance cloud infrastructure.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for software architecture and design decisions.
• Mentor developers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Ensure high code quality through automated deployments, unit testing, and integration testing.
• Document technical solutions and support the engineering manager in team delivery.
• Participate in on-call rotations for production systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building enterprise-level cloud services.
• Proficiency in Java (Spring) or TypeScript for cloud services.
• Strong experience with AWS (ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, SNS).
• Experience with frontend frameworks like React, TypeScript, NestJS, and Next.js.
• Knowledge of Docker, RESTful APIs, and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
• Must be based in Canada (Ontario).

Nice to have

• Experience with AI-powered development tools such as Claude code, Cursor, and VSCode Copilot.
• Familiarity with spec-driven development and agentic coding tools.
