PSDS Design Release Engineer (Automotive)

TL;DR

PSDS Design Release Engineer (Automotive): Supporting the release and validation of electrical components (wire harnesses) for regular production with an accent on technical, manufacturing, and quality requirements. Focus on designing, integrating harnesses within vehicle architecture, and resolving complex component development issues.

Location: Hybrid in Toluca, México (expected to report to office at least 3 times a week). No immigration sponsorship or relocation benefits provided.

What you will do

• Design and validate wire harnesses and cable assemblies, including all sub-components.
• Integrate assigned harnesses into the overall vehicle architecture and provide direction to UG Designers.
• Execute root cause analysis and problem resolution for vehicle or component development and validation issues.
• Manage engineering change requests and coordinate validation plans (DV and PV) to meet program milestones.
• Interface with Lead DREs, Technical Specialists, and suppliers to optimize cost, weight, and design direction.
• Support virtual and physical build events and contribute to warranty reduction efforts.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Advanced English proficiency (C1).
• 0-3 years of professional experience in engineering or product development environments.
• Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and engineering validation methodologies.
• Understanding of 3D spatial design concepts and digital model interpretation.
• Must be based in México; no immigration sponsorship provided.

Nice to have

• Proficiency with NX CAD software.
• Experience with automotive component release and validation processes.
• Knowledge of component cost and mass optimization methodologies.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled engineering or productivity tools.
