What you will do

• Lead the development and review of functional safety work products for vehicle programs in compliance with ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), and UL 4600.
• Develop strong safety argumentation and create evidence-based safety cases for system, hardware, and software level safety concepts.
• Conduct hazard and risk analyses to develop safety concepts for vehicle systems and electronic components.
• Define and decompose safety requirements aligned with safety mechanisms, diagnostic concepts, and architectural metrics.
• Perform detailed safety analyses including FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, FTA, and STPA for L2 to L4 automated systems and battery systems.
• Lead technical workshops, safety training sessions, and manage client programs through regular technical reviews.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
• M.S. or B.S. degree in Electrical, Automotive, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in a safety-related role within automotive functional safety.
• Hands-on experience in electronics system, hardware, and software product design with a focus on the safety development lifecycle.
• Proficiency in safety analysis tools: HARA, STPA, FTA, FMEA, FMEDA, DFA.
• Deep experience working with ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 standards.
