What you will do

  • Fabricate challenging composite aircraft structures and provide manufacturing input to resolve recurring production issues.
  • Lead fabrication activities and coach, mentor, and direct composite manufacturing personnel.
  • Assign fabrication team members based on verified skills and competencies.
  • Lay up prepreg and wet-layup composite materials according to engineering drawings and process specifications.
  • Perform bagging, vacuum infusion, bonding, cure cycles, demolding, trimming, finishing, repairs, and refinishing.
  • Inspect parts, maintain certification-traceability records, and collaborate with manufacturing engineering and design teams on buildability and process improvements.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an engineering technician in the aerospace and/or automotive industry.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced prototyping environment.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, layup methods, resin systems, cure processes, and mechanical or structural assembly.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, engineering instructions, process documentation, test procedures, and FAA guidelines.
  • Knowledge of aircraft safety procedures, tool control, foreign object debris prevention, and industry regulations.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds, work in confined spaces, handle hazardous materials, and maintain quality standards under shifting priorities.

Nice to have

  • A&P certification or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks, Siemens NX, or CATIA.
  • Experience troubleshooting integration or mechanical issues, electric aircraft, aircraft configuration management, FAA conformity, or new product development in aerospace and aviation.
