Director, Logistics (3PL)

Location: Based at the North Billerica, Massachusetts office with in-office days; candidates must live within commuting distance or be based in the Greater St. Louis or Chicagoland areas and willing to travel to Massachusetts. Relocation to North Billerica is supported. Travel to 3PL partner sites, company facilities, and corporate meetings is required 20–30% of the time.

Salary: $110,500–$196,500 per year, plus eligibility for the company bonus plan.

What you will do

• Own logistics strategy and serve as the strategic lead for 3PL partnerships across warehousing, fulfillment, transportation, returns, reverse logistics, and international shipping.
• Lead contract negotiations, renewals, SLA development, business reviews, partner onboarding, and performance governance with 3PL providers.
• Oversee fulfillment, inventory flows, transportation networks, freight performance, returns processing, and international shipping compliance.
• Define and monitor KPIs including order accuracy, on-time shipment, inventory shrinkage, freight spend, returns rates, and service levels.
• Drive continuous improvement, cost optimization, root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and logistics technology initiatives across the 3PL network.
• Partner with Supply Chain, Order Management, Finance, Customer Service, IT, procurement, and legal teams while reporting performance and risks to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 10–12+ years of logistics, supply chain, or operations experience with progressive leadership responsibility.
• At least 5 years of direct 3PL management experience, including contract negotiation, SLA governance, and performance management.
• Proven experience managing warehousing, transportation, fulfillment, returns, and international shipping across multiple logistics channels.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and vendor management skills.
• Experience with logistics technology platforms such as WMS, TMS, or supply chain visibility tools.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice to have

• APICS CSCP, CLTD, or a similar supply chain or logistics certification.
• Master’s degree.
• Experience in publishing, media, or education materials.
• Familiarity with customs brokerage, international trade compliance, logistics network design, or 3PL RFP and onboarding processes.
