Senior Director, Commodity Management

Salary: $180,600–$258,100 USD per annum

What you will do

• Develop and execute commodity strategies across boiler maintenance, waste disposal, chemicals, MRO, environmental services, engineering services, equipment, and capital projects.
• Lead supplier selection, negotiations, contract strategy, implementation planning, and supplier transitions.
• Deliver savings, cost avoidance, supplier consolidation, risk reduction, service improvements, and total cost-out initiatives.
• Strengthen procurement governance, competitive bidding, contract compliance, supplier performance management, and standardized procurement workflows.
• Partner with Operations, Finance, Legal, Engineering, Environmental, Technology, and regional teams to implement procurement standards and change-management plans.
• Lead, coach, and develop commodity managers and sourcing professionals while reporting budgets, savings, risks, and business impact to executives.

Requirements

• 20+ years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or commercial management.
• 10+ years of leadership experience in commodity management, category management, or strategic sourcing.
• 10+ years of people management experience, including leadership of managers or senior sourcing professionals.
• Experience with boilers, maintenance services, MRO, chemicals, reagents, environmental services, waste disposal, engineering services, or capital projects.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, financial, problem-solving, executive communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Finance, Operations, or a related field required.

Nice to have

• MBA or advanced degree.
• Experience in utilities, power generation, waste processing, oil and gas, chemicals, environmental services, or other heavy industrial sectors.
• Experience with procurement technology, ERP-enabled workflows, process controls, or change-management programs in decentralized environments.
