Accounts Payable Manager

TL;DR

Accounts Payable Manager (Accounting Operations): Building and scaling the end-to-end accounts payable function with an accent on invoice processing, vendor management, internal controls, and payment accuracy. Focus on leading high-volume AP operations, improving automation and efficiency, and supporting three-way matching, month-end close, tax reporting, and audits.

Location: Onsite in the Los Angeles area, Hawthorne, California, 4–5 days per week.

Salary: $125,000–$150,000 base compensation, excluding bonus, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Oversee the full accounts payable cycle, including invoice intake, coding, approvals, payments, and account reconciliation.
• Process high invoice volumes while reviewing contracts, purchase orders, goods receipts, and approvals.
• Manage vendor records and relationships, resolving discrepancies and payment issues proactively.
• Partner with Procurement, Shipping and Receiving, and Finance on accurate three-way matching and timely payments.
• Maintain internal controls and compliance with tax reporting requirements, including annual 1099 filing.
• Improve AP processes through automation, efficiency initiatives, cost reduction, month-end close support, and audit collaboration.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience leading an accounts payable function.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, accounting judgment, and communication skills.
• Hands-on, solutions-driven approach to accounting operations.
• Ability to work onsite in the Los Angeles area 4–5 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite and/or Ramp.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, or high-growth manufacturing environments.
