Academic Coach or Tutor (Education): Providing 1:1 academic support and executive functioning coaching for an adult college student with an accent on neurodiversity and mental health support. Focus on developing study skills, improving reading and writing, and assisting with introductory non-STEM coursework.

Location: On-site at City College of San Francisco (CCSF)

Salary: Up to $45–$50/hr

What you will do

• Provide individualized 1:1 academic coaching for general introductory college courses.
• Assist with reading comprehension, foundational essay writing, and assignment planning.
• Implement executive functioning strategies, including time management and note-taking.
• Adapt coaching methods to support learners with mental health challenges and/or disabilities.
• Help the student navigate college course portals, syllabus requirements, and deadlines.
• Foster student autonomy and provide a supportive environment to manage academic stress.

Requirements

• Experience working with adult learners in a tutoring or academic coaching capacity.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or mental health conditions.
• Strong background in introductory college-level writing and reading.
• Must be available for in-person sessions at the CCSF campus during the specified times (Mondays after 2 PM, Tuesdays before 3 PM, Wednesdays after 12 PM).
• Ability to remain patient, empathetic, and skilled at de-escalating academic anxiety.
