Salary: $171,000–$220,000 USD per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Lead, develop, and support a four-person marketing team across events, community, product marketing, Linux marketing, PR, and influencer marketing.
- Define marketing strategy, improve operating processes, oversee campaigns, and manage the team budget across multiple functions.
- Own hands-on product marketing, including go-to-market briefings, positioning, messaging, audience definition, copy, and launch coordination.
- Lead media review cycles, prepare physical product units, and support product launches and marketing events.
- Partner with the Creative Director and creative team on integrated launch campaigns.
- Coordinate with hardware product management, supply chain, and logistics teams to keep customers informed throughout product development and delivery.
Requirements
- 5+ years of marketing experience, including at least 3 years managing and developing a team.
- Hands-on experience owning end-to-end product marketing for physical products, including go-to-market planning, positioning, and messaging.
- Familiarity with hardware DIYers, computer tinkerers, Linux enthusiasts, Linux-based software developers, or AI developers.
- Experience working with hardware product management, supply chain, and logistics teams in fast-moving or lean organizations.
- Experience setting strategy across events, community, Linux marketing, PR, and influencer marketing, while contributing as an individual contributor.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and willingness to travel roughly every two months to San Francisco, plus occasional event and photoshoot travel.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with products and community.
- Consumer electronics marketing experience.
- PC building or hardware DIY experience, including 3D printing, Arduino, or Raspberry Pi.
- Experience partnering with a Creative Director or in-house creative team on integrated launch campaigns.
- Experience in an early-stage or scaling startup and building processes from the ground up.
