Senior Cloud & AI FinOps Analyst

Location: AMER - United States - Michigan - Novi

Salary: $98,000–$175,450 per year base salary for U.S.-based roles; offers may exceed this range.

What you will do

• Own stakeholder-facing FinOps capabilities, including multi-cloud and AI spend dashboards, reporting, documentation, enablement, automation, and intake workflows.
• Maintain a FinOps services portal and evolve the operating model through roadmap development, backlog prioritization, and continuous improvement.
• Lead a FinOps Champion Network across engineering, finance, and product teams, supporting shared goals, playbooks, and office hours.
• Build and maintain dashboards and reporting in Apptio Cloudability, Apptio BI, and Turbonomic, ensuring reliable metrics and data quality.
• Track AI application usage, user seats, licenses, and token consumption across tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT Enterprise, and Claude.
• Analyze anomalies, cost drivers, forecasts, and variances; develop automated optimization workflows with approvals, guardrails, and post-change verification.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, information systems, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or FinOps Analyst, including requirements elicitation, process mapping, stakeholder facilitation, and delivery of stakeholder-facing capabilities.
• Strong analytical problem-solving, data validation, metric definition, and executive-ready communication skills.
• Hands-on experience with Apptio Cloudability, Apptio BI, Turbonomic, or comparable platform-native tooling.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, and GCP billing and pricing, plus SaaS and AI licensing models such as user seats, tokens, and API pricing tiers.
• Experience partnering with technical teams on lifecycle automation, requirements, acceptance criteria, and measurable outcomes.

Nice to have

• FinOps Certified Practitioner or higher.
• AWS Cloud Practitioner, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, or Google Cloud Digital Leader certification.
• Experience with governance, provisioning workflows, or chargeback mechanisms for AI tools, LLMs, or developer productivity applications.
