TL;DR
Design Quality Engineer (Automotive): Ensuring design execution of Class-A products and accessories meets customer commitments with an accent on tool quality and material development. Focus on reviewing moulded parts, validating grain approvals, and ensuring AAR parts meet visual and dimensional targets.
Location: Must be based in Troy, MI, USA. Applicants must have proof of immediate, on-going and valid eligibility to work full time in the United States; no visa sponsorship available.

What you will do
- Oversee program timelines and maintain a detailed material development database.
- Review moulded parts pre-grain and validate Pre-Grain Approval Sheets to ensure mold quality.
- Assess AAR parts (wrapped, painted, chrome, MIC, etc.) for visual targets and dimensional stability to support PPAP sign-off.
- Provide visual documentation of mold and AAR issues and collaborate with suppliers and engineers to resolve them.
- Provide on-site support at supplier locations to root cause quality issues in coordination with SQE teams.
- Work with CMF Design and Mastering to ensure accurate plaque-to-part scaling.
Requirements
- 8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree, or 6 years with a Master's degree.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within the automotive industry.
- Direct experience in injection moulding/tooling and/or 6-8 years of direct AAR experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
- Proficiency in MS Office and professional report writing.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.
