Facilities Maintenance Technician (HVAC)

What you will do

• Maintain and repair HVAC equipment, air handlers, chilled-water systems, cooling towers, pumps, valves, filters, and related facility systems.
• Install and repair ductwork, refrigerant systems, water piping, insulation, plumbing, heating, and drainage systems.
• Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, clean, reassemble, and test pumps and other mechanical equipment.
• Develop and update preventive-maintenance instructions to support reliable operation without unplanned service interruptions.
• Interpret schematics, specifications, blueprints, and manufacturer requirements while fabricating or modifying mechanical parts.
• Complete safety inspections, failure assessments, work tickets, service reports, and maintenance-status updates for internal and external customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent certificate.
• 3+ years of professional experience with HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.
• Knowledge of applicable building codes, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems, interpret technical documentation, and use hand and machine tools.
• Ability to operate forklifts, lifts, pallet jacks, work trucks, and overhead cranes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including use of Microsoft Outlook and Teams.

Nice to have

• Technical certification or journeyman/master qualification in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems.
• Experience with high-pressure, flammable, and refrigeration gases.
• Experience maintaining HEPA filters and air-handling-unit filtration systems.
• Experience preparing service reports with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working in high-stress environments while managing multiple changing priorities.
