Senior Dimensional & Metrology Engineer

Location: Linden, New Jersey, United States; onsite

Base salary: $139,900–$171,850 USD

What you will do

• Own the metrology lab roadmap, including capital expenditure planning, operational infrastructure, and global measurement processes.
• Define corporate GD&T standards using ISO and ASME practices and lead cross-functional reviews.
• Develop functional gauging and advanced 1D, 2D, and 3D tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Establish measurement correlation protocols and conduct technical audits with manufacturing partners in Asia.
• Oversee CNC-CMM and 3D scanning inspections, investigate dimensional root causes, and improve new product introduction outcomes.
• Integrate Design for Inspection principles with Supplier Quality and Hardware teams, and develop training for metrology and GD&T.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in dimensional engineering or metrology, including 3+ years in a technical lead role.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering; a master’s degree is preferred.
• Expert proficiency in PolyWorks, Zeiss Calypso, or PC-DMIS, with deep experience in SolidWorks and PTC Windchill.
• Experience with Design for Excellence or Design for Inspection and high-volume manufacturing partners in Asia.
• Strong knowledge of MSA and GR&R studies and the ability to communicate dimensional analysis to executive stakeholders.
• GD&T certification and Six Sigma Black Belt certification are significant advantages.
