Senior/Staff Supplier Quality & Development Engineer (Additive Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite at the Torrance, California headquarters, with occasional travel to the Long Beach factory; up to 50% travel is required.

Salary: $128,520–$204,090 USD annually, depending on level.

What you will do

• Manage supplier quality and development activities across materials, components, services, equipment, and advanced manufacturing assets.
• Develop and improve supplier quality manuals, procedures, specifications, inspection plans, and purchase-order requirements.
• Conduct supplier audits, source inspections, capability assessments, tooling validation, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.
• Lead containment, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement for supplier defects and nonconformances.
• Analyze supplier performance metrics including OTD, OEE, cost, scrap, rework, repair, capability, reliability, and uptime.
• Partner with procurement, manufacturing, facilities, automation, maintenance, engineering, customers, and suppliers; train quality and purchasing personnel.

Requirements

• Ability to lawfully access information and technology subject to US export controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field, with 7–8 years of progressive supplier quality engineering experience.
• Expertise in APQP, PPAP, FMEA, automotive component design, manufacturing processes, safety and test requirements, and appearance approval procedures.
• Proficiency in GD&T, datum structures, IATF 16949, ISO 14001, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, quality audits, and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or Plex, supplier portals, and compliance tools.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.

Nice to have

• Supplier quality experience for capital equipment, automated production lines, robotics, CNC machining, and facility systems.
• Experience with FAT, SAT, commissioning, and long-term supplier performance monitoring.
• Knowledge of aerospace standards including AS9100 and NADCAP.
• Master’s degree, DFM expertise, and experience developing cost models for multiple commodities.
