Salary: $187,000–$196,000 USD per year, plus potential annual bonus, equity, and company benefits.

What you will do

• Develop mechanical hardware from initial concepts and prototypes through tooling and mass production.
• Design parts and modules for performance, cost, reliability, thermal behavior, EMI/EMC, and IP-rating requirements.
• Work with electrical, manufacturing, vehicle, and industrial design teams to develop integrated vehicle hardware.
• Design robust metal, plastic, and elastomer parts for scalable production.
• Manage tolerance analysis, GD&T, bills of materials, and PLM release processes.

Requirements

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with 5+ years of industry experience in consumer electronics, automotive sensors, or related complex product design.
• High proficiency in 3D CAD tools; Catia V6 and/or Solidworks preferred.
• Experience designing metal, plastic, and elastomer parts.
• Strong knowledge of tolerance analysis and GD&T.
• Ability to apply foundational physics to structural, thermal, and optical design constraints.
• Availability for an onsite, in-person work schedule in Mountain View, California.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience taking mechanical designs from concept to production.
• Experience with HV and LV electronics, actuators, motors, and precision components at scale.
• Track record of shipping reliable product designs.
• Experience developing and sourcing hardware with international suppliers.
