Senior Manager, Dimensional Engineering (Aerospace)

Location: San Jose, California, United States; up to 15% domestic and international travel

Salary: $336,810–$353,650 per year

What you will do

• Lead dimensional engineering strategy for complex aerospace and eVTOL structures across the product lifecycle.
• Define and approve GD&T schemes, datum structures, and tolerance allocation methods for composite, machined, bonded, and assembled components.
• Establish dimensional control plans, key characteristics, and variation-reduction strategies for flight-critical structures.
• Develop measurement and inspection strategies using CMM, laser scanning, photogrammetry, and tooling validation.
• Oversee dimensional validation through prototype, pre-production, and production phases to support certification and regulatory audits.
• Manage and mentor dimensional engineering teams and collaborate with DERs, certification authorities, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 5 years of dimensional engineering experience involving diverse manufacturing processes.
• In-depth knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5-1994/2009/2018.
• Experience with measurement systems, statistical concepts, process control, and 1D and 3D dimensional variation analysis.
• Proficiency in 3DCS software.
