Software Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Build backend services for robot fleet coordination, workflow state management, and API development.
• Develop workflow authoring tools that allow operators to define and refine robot behaviors using natural language.
• Create on-robot services for remote control, execution, state reporting, and diagnostics.
• Manage data infrastructure for event logging, conformance metrics, and audit trails.
• Maintain secure cloud infrastructure, including deployment pipelines, observability, and alerting.
• Implement testing and validation pipelines, including simulation-based workflow validation.

Requirements

• Strong backend engineering skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
• Solid understanding of API design, data modeling, and distributed systems tradeoffs (consistency, concurrency, fault tolerance).
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code.
• Comfort working across the stack from frontend to backend.
• Experience with observability and alerting in mission-critical operational systems.
• Must be based in or be able to work on-site in London, UK

Nice to have

• Familiarity with workflow engines, state machines, or multi-agent coordination systems.
• Experience building operator-facing dashboards or authoring UIs.
• Exposure to LLM-based agentic systems for generating structured representations from natural language.
• Experience integrating with enterprise systems such as WMS or ERP.
• Background in robotics or real-time systems where side-effects must be managed carefully.
