Forward Deployed Software Engineer (AI)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid work includes time in the Shoreditch office and work-from-home days; travel to customer sites in North America, Europe, Asia, and Oceania averages 3–4 weeks per quarter.

What you will do

• Build and deploy applications that use physics AI models to help customers improve engineering workflows.
• Work directly with customers, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Shape end-to-end tools, create rapid prototypes, and iterate through continuous user feedback.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs with FastAPI and Python microservices serving large physics models.
• Deploy customer applications to cloud infrastructure using Helm, Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS, and Azure.
• Distill solutions from multiple use cases into reusable platform components and develop new product features.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering foundation and a track record of solving complex technical problems.
• Experience with API design and deploying applications to production.
• Ability to work across the full stack and collaborate with front-end engineers and designers.
• Proactive, high-ownership approach with the ability to solve novel problems end to end.
• Customer-focused approach and ability to work alongside customers to understand engineering problems.
• Willingness to travel to customer sites for an average of 3–4 weeks per quarter.

Nice to have

• Background in mechanical engineering or a similar discipline.
