Salary: $220,000 – $280,000 + equity

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS subscriptions, Enterprise agreements, DPAs, and NDAs.
• Provide practical legal advice to Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to facilitate efficient commercial transactions and product launches.
• Manage the company’s intellectual property (IP) portfolio.
• Monitor and translate developments in AI, privacy, and cybersecurity regulations (e.g., EU AI Act) into business guidance.
• Develop and optimize contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and legal operations processes.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
• 3–6 years of legal experience, including work at a law firm and/or in-house at a technology or SaaS company.
• Strong expertise in SaaS business models, software licensing, and commercial contracting.
• Deep understanding of data privacy principles and intellectual property law.
• Must be located in Los Angeles, San Francisco, or Palo Alto.

Nice to have

• In-house experience specifically at an AI, cloud, or generative AI company.
• Knowledge of the EU AI Act, California AI legislation, and global data transfer mechanisms (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows and foundation models.
