Product Applications Engineer (Ion Beam)

Location: Hiroshima, Japan; occasional travel to the corporate office in Plainview, New York.

What you will do

• Develop ion beam system applications and process performance in close collaboration with customers.
• Create and maintain best-known methods for process control, process development, and continuous improvement.
• Analyze ion beam system hardware, diagnostics, and processes to improve equipment performance.
• Resolve process issues and coordinate solutions with service and engineering teams.
• Present product technologies to customers and sales channels, and provide training to colleagues, customers, and partners.
• Work cross-functionally with service, sales, marketing, product, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams.

Requirements

• BS degree with at least 5 years of related experience in thin film technologies or related equipment, or MS degree with at least 3 years of related experience; a PhD in engineering, physics, or chemistry is also accepted.
• At least 2 years of customer support or management experience.
• Knowledge of semiconductor devices, module processes, and process integration in logic and/or memory fabrication is preferred.
• Understanding of thin film deposition processes and hardware is desirable.
• Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and self-motivation skills.
