What you will do

• Own the design and analysis of in-core and ex-core detector systems for neutron flux and radiation monitoring.
• Perform detector response modeling and verification using radiation transport codes.
• Evaluate and validate sensor survivability under extreme temperature and radiation conditions.
• Partner with control and DAQ engineers to integrate sensor outputs into reactor monitoring and protection systems.
• Conduct verification and validation (V&V) of instrumentation against regulatory and customer requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or an equivalent degree.
• 1-2+ years of industry experience with exposure to radiation detection or instrumentation.
• Experience with radiation transport codes such as MCNP, OpenMC, or Serpent.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, C#, FORTRAN, or another scientific computing language.
• Basic knowledge of thermal hydraulic principles.
• Must be able to serve in compliance with U.S. export controls.

Nice to have

• Hands-on experience testing sensors in harsh environments.
• Experience with data acquisition (DAQ) systems and reactor control integration.
• Knowledge of variance reduction techniques (Attila4MC or ADVANTG).
• Familiarity with CAD software such as NX, SolidWorks, or SpaceClaim.
• Experience with dose consequence software (MAACS or NRC-RADTRAN).
