Director, Strategic Finance - Planning Systems Lead (Planning Systems)

Location: US Remote

Salary: $140K–$170K per year for US-based candidates; candidates outside the US may receive a location-specific range.

What you will do

• Own the consolidated planning and reporting engine for the annual operating plan, long-range plan, and monthly and quarterly forecast cycles.
• Serve as the functional and technical owner of the financial planning platform, including tool evaluation, design, implementation, administration, enhancement, and enablement.
• Own the planning systems roadmap, including prioritization, user acceptance testing, governance, and change management.
• Lead finance transformation initiatives focused on automation, standardization, simplification, and the use of AI in planning and reporting workflows.
• Design integrations between the planning platform, ERP, data warehouse, and BI stack in partnership with Accounting, Data Engineering, and Analytics.
• Produce executive-facing reporting, dashboards, weekly and monthly reviews, and quarterly Board and Audit Committee materials while standardizing inputs across finance teams.

Requirements

• B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of progressive experience spanning strategic finance or FP&A and finance systems or finance transformation roles.
• Strong financial and business acumen, including P&L mechanics, budgeting, forecasting, and company-wide planning consolidation.
• Hands-on experience implementing, administering, or owning an EPM or planning platform such as Anaplan, Pigment, Adaptive, Planful, or similar, including model design and integrations.
• Demonstrated success leading a finance transformation initiative end-to-end and standing up or materially scaling planning systems and automated reporting.
• Ability to manipulate large datasets and turn them into clear, structured, decision-ready outputs.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to run multiple workstreams simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, action-oriented, and effective in ambiguous, fast-changing environments; experience leveraging AI and automation to improve finance workflows.

Nice to have

• SQL proficiency and experience with BI tools including Looker or Amplitude.
• NetSuite or similar ERP integration experience.
• Experience at a high-growth public company, recent IPO, or late-stage Series C+ startup with significant revenue and organizational growth.
• Exposure to a public company’s external reporting cycle, including Board, Audit Committee, earnings, or guidance processes.
