Senior Associate – Professional Risks (Professional Indemnity and Insurance Disputes): Handling technically challenging professional risks matters, including professional indemnity, liability, coverage, property damage, D&O and cyber risk disputes, with an accent on defendant-side insurance work and London Market instructions. Focus on leading complex caseloads, setting case strategy and reserves, supervising junior lawyers, and developing a growing practice.
Location: Manchester, UK; hybrid working

What you will do
- Handle insured and uninsured contentious and non-contentious professional risks matters.
- Advise on professional indemnity, public liability, property damage, D&O and cyber risks.
- Manage complex coverage issues and disputes, primarily from a defendant-side perspective.
- Lead cases day to day, setting strategy, reserves and delivery plans across matters ranging from small claims to multi-million-pound disputes.
- Supervise junior lawyers and administrators and support their professional development.
- Contribute to business development, internal referrals, relationship building and the growth of London Market work.
Requirements
- Experience as an insurance or professional risks lawyer.
- Experience handling defendant-side professional indemnity and/or liability insurance claims.
- Experience advising on policy coverage and coverage disputes.
- Background in insurance-focused or defendant litigation teams.
- Ability to manage an independent caseload across varied values and levels of complexity.
- Strong communication, client-focused, commercial and collaborative approach, with interest in business development and supervising junior colleagues.
