Software Development Engineer III (AI)

Base pay for Washington applicants: $164,652–$230,512.80 per year; ranges may differ by site.

What you will do

• Build AI-native systems for aerospace design, analysis, product development, and testing.
• Develop production applications and long-lasting REST and GraphQL APIs.
• Use AWS, Java, React, Python, TypeScript, and GenAI platforms to deliver digital infrastructure.
• Design and implement automated unit and end-to-end testing, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Translate aerospace domain expertise into reliable software while maintaining high engineering quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience writing production code.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience with Python, Java, and TypeScript.
• Experience with production APIs or applications, GitHub or GitLab, CI/CD, and Java or React testing.
• Understanding of a modern database system, such as an RDBMS, columnar DBMS, NoSQL, or in-memory database.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee or asylee.

Nice to have

• Experience with Angular, AWS, Azure, other cloud infrastructure, or Terraform.
• Familiarity with agentic harnesses, MCP, and knowledge graphs.
