Data Quality Lead (Microsoft Azure / Power BI)

Location: Hybrid, based in the Farmington, Connecticut or Morristown, New Jersey office, with in-office collaboration three days per week.

Salary: $140,000–$160,000 per year, with incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Lead QA efforts for releases of the reinsurance data warehouse application.
• Analyze business requirements and create master test plans for data warehouse and business intelligence projects.
• Lead QA analysts, review SQL scripts and test cases, and coordinate manual and automated regression testing.
• Integrate automated data tests into deployment pipelines and implement completeness and referential-integrity checks in Snowflake.
• Reconcile Power BI reports with Snowflake and source systems using complex SQL, including validation of reporting logic and data quality.
• Lead User Acceptance Testing and prepare quality-control evidence for business, audit, and regulatory approval.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in data warehousing, reporting, data quality, or data testing.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, CTEs, window functions, reconciliation, and data validation.
• Strong experience with Azure data technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, and Azure SQL.
• Experience with data-focused QA, automated regression testing, reporting validation, and audit-ready testing documentation.
• Experience testing financial, insurance, reinsurance, regulatory, or other regulated-industry reporting solutions.

Nice to have

• Power BI Desktop and Service experience, including DAX, Power Query, and report validation.
• Experience with Tableau, Cognos, SSRS, or similar business intelligence platforms.
• Background in reinsurance or insurance, including treaties, premiums, claims, and loss triangles.
• Experience working with third-party vendors and cross-functional business and technology teams.
