Mid-Level Software Engineer (C++/Python)

Location: Dayton, Ohio; in-office and on-site at or near Wright-Patterson AFB

Salary: $102,000–$155,000 per year

What you will do

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain data analysis tools, applications, and websites across Windows and Linux environments.
• Refactor and modernize complex, mission-critical code bases and implement new capabilities for technical intelligence products.
• Lead and contribute to software design meetings, reviews, and architecture activities.
• Implement unit tests, participate in functional test execution, and support test-driven development.
• Build and deploy software releases while optimizing CI/CD pipelines and Jenkins-based build environments.
• Collaborate with developers, provide technical guidance, and mentor less-experienced engineers in Agile and Scrum teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.
• 5–10 years of experience independently driving software design, development, coding, testing, and debugging for complex, multi-component systems.
• Knowledge of Java, C++, Python, and Go, with experience working in large code bases and complex dependency structures.
• Experience with Elasticsearch or similar document stores, PostgreSQL or other SQL stores, Git, test-driven development, CI/CD, and Jenkins.

Nice to have

• Experience designing, building, and deploying containerized software and Open Container Images.
• Experience running production software on Kubernetes, including networking, storage, workload management, and application architecture.
• CompTIA Security+ certification.
• Experience with Qt C++, PyQt, formal requirements analysis, or applications in the NASIC Unified Cloud.
