Software Engineer (Python)

Salary: $130,000–$200,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain scalable Python backend services and APIs.
• Build interfaces, data contracts, and integration points for distributed services, external systems, and event-driven data streams.
• Develop automated unit, integration, and regression tests and resolve defects across development and test environments.
• Profile applications, database queries, and data workflows to optimize latency and throughput.
• Containerize applications with Docker and deploy workloads to Kubernetes using Helm.
• Participate in CI/CD, sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and peer code reviews.

Requirements

• Active or current Top-Secret (TS) security clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional backend software engineering experience building and deploying production applications.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with Python and Bash.
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to independently deliver user stories and write defensive, testable code.

Nice to have

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph and Privileged User eligibility.
• Experience with distributed messaging, event-driven patterns, microservices, REST, or gRPC.
• Exposure to Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, monitoring, observability, and logging in Kubernetes environments.
• Knowledge of space-to-ground architectures, interface standards, C2 systems, or Mission Management systems.
