Junior Software Engineer (Python)

Salary: $100,000–$160,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Develop and maintain backend services, scripts, and endpoints in Python.
• Implement data connectors, API endpoints, and messaging interfaces for reliable service-to-service data flow.
• Write unit and integration tests, improve coverage, and support continuous verification.
• Investigate, reproduce, and fix defects in test and development environments.
• Package applications in Docker containers and assist with Kubernetes deployments using Helm charts and CI/CD pipelines.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and code reviews while incorporating peer feedback.

Requirements

• Active or current Top-Secret security clearance is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• 2+ years of professional software engineering experience developing backend applications or scripts.
• Strong foundational knowledge of Python and basic Bash scripting.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL and conceptual familiarity with Redis or in-memory caching.
• Basic Docker and Kubernetes experience, plus practical Git and CI/CD testing experience.

Nice to have

• TS/SCI clearance with polygraph.
• Privileged User eligibility, including Security+ or equivalent qualifications.
• Experience with Helm, Kubernetes debugging, REST APIs, FastAPI, Flask, message brokers, or pub/sub systems.
• Familiarity with GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, automated linting, or security scans.
