Sr Manager, Software Development Engineering (AI)

Salary: $143,625 - $299,375 per year

What you will do

• Lead multiple engineering squads focused on anti-spam, phishing, and fraud protection infrastructure.
• Define technical strategies and roadmaps to ensure the reliable delivery of billions of messages daily.
• Collaborate with product, security, and platform teams to deliver cross-organizational initiatives.
• Manage technical risks, production escalations, and architectural simplification for large-scale systems.
• Hire, coach, and develop a high-performing organization of engineers and managers.
• Drive the adoption of AI and ML to improve anti-abuse capabilities and developer productivity.

Requirements

• Must be based in the United States.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience in large-scale backend or distributed systems.
• 4+ years of engineering management experience leading other managers or senior engineers.
• Strong technical depth in service reliability, systems integration, and performance-sensitive infrastructure.
• Proven experience in anti-spam, trust and safety, or similarly complex internet-scale systems.
• Demonstrated experience or strong interest in applying AI/ML/GenAI to engineering systems.

Nice to have

• Expertise in email delivery systems and RFC-driven protocols.
• Familiarity with GCP, AWS, and cloud-native infrastructure.
• Experience with data mining and large-scale classification systems.
• Experience improving developer experience through tooling and SDLC improvements.
