What you will do

• Develop block diagrams and schematics from the initial concept phase for optical transceiver products.
• Specify, design, test, and release new optical products through the complete product lifecycle.
• Create Hardware Unit Design Specifications and detailed test plans.
• Perform signal integrity analysis and high-speed simulations using industry-standard tools.
• Collaborate with FPGA, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams for product integration.
• Support products through manufacturing transfer and provide engineering support to contract partners.

Requirements

• BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in high-speed board design.
• Strong fundamentals in electromagnetic and RF design, including impedance matching and S-parameter analysis.
• Experience with high-speed RF measurements and fiber optic testing.
• Proficiency with schematic capture tools such as Mentor Graphics DxDesigner or Xpedition.
• Location: Must be based in Ottawa, ON.

Nice to have

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Experience with Ansys HFSS, Keysight ADS, HyperLynx, or similar EM/SI simulation tools.
• Knowledge of Telcordia, IEC, and ITU telecommunications standards.
• Experience designing coherent optical systems or pluggable modules.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, or LabVIEW for automation.
