Senior Planner/Buyer (Aerospace)

Salary: $115,000–$148,000 annually

What you will do

• Develop and execute procurement strategies for assigned categories and manufacturing requirements.
• Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders, operating groups, and external suppliers.
• Negotiate material and service contracts covering price, quality, specifications, and delivery.
• Conduct RFQs, global market research, supplier qualification, and supply-base optimization.
• Review MRP requirements and inventory balances, using ERP systems to manage material availability.
• Maintain purchasing lead times, inventory accuracy, supplier performance data, and SOX compliance records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain, engineering, finance, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of progressive procurement experience in manufacturing or engineering.
• At least 2 years of experience in sourcing or relevant business and commercial work.
• Experience with advanced Excel and PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, MRP, SAP, and Ariba.
• Established skills in sourcing, negotiation, strategy execution, contract development, financial analysis, market analysis, and supplier management.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and use market and supplier data to develop sourcing solutions.

Nice to have

• MBA or certification in purchasing, supply chain, or program management.
• Project or program management experience.
• Knowledge of procurement and contractual law.
• ISM-CPM/CPSM or APICS-CPIM certification.
• Experience implementing SAP systems.
