What you will do

• Perform advanced database tuning, query optimization, and indexing to resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Execute database installations, patching, upgrades, and troubleshooting to maintain system reliability.
• Plan and execute data migrations, including ETL processes from legacy Oracle systems to Microsoft SQL and Azure.
• Convert legacy Oracle Stored Procedures and Functions into Azure SQL compliant syntax.
• Implement robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures, including high-availability clustering.
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders in an Agile (Scrum) environment to support multi-tier system architectures.

Requirements

• Must reside in the State of Texas and be local to the Austin area (within a 50-mile radius).
• 10+ years of professional database administration and engineering experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server.
• 8+ years of experience in database design, schema structures, and performance tuning.
• 8+ years of experience working within the SDLC using Agile methodologies.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment security review for public sector eligibility.

Nice to have

• 6+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments.
• 6+ years of experience performing ETL data processes into Azure SQL.
• 3+ years of experience with DevOps technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based workflows.
• 3+ years of experience in Java/J2EE enterprise development environments.
• Professional Azure or DBA Associate certifications.
