Veterinarian Technician I

Location: Onsite veterinary practices in Coral Springs, Boynton Beach, Plantation, Delray Beach, Boca Raton, Parrish, Lutz, and Coral Gables, Florida. Weekend work and some travel may be required.

What you will do

• Provide proficient veterinary medical care and support the practice team in delivering patient and client care.
• Perform patient-care procedures including blood transfusions, oxygen cage support, cardiac monitoring, dentistry, wound care, catheter placement, and anesthesia monitoring.
• Monitor unstable and high-risk patients while handling animal bodily fluids and tissues safely.
• Communicate patient updates to veterinarians and colleagues in real time across in-practice, referral, and home-care settings.
• Use integrated practice technology as a PIMS administrative super-user and support colleagues in using it.
• Manage inventory needs, controlled-substance logs, workspace sanitation, required training, and practice procedures.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure preferred.
• Ability to complete the veterinary technician skills checklist for Veterinary Technician III.
• 5+ years of veterinary technician experience in a practice preferred.
• Strong client communication, compassion, verbal and written communication, observation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
• Ability to stand or walk for up to 80% of a shift and frequently lift 50–70 pounds, with team assistance for heavier loads.
