Senior Analytics Engineer

TL;DR

Senior Analytics Engineer (dbt/Trino/SQL): Own and execute the data transformation layer for a data platform processing hundreds of millions of events daily, with an accent on scalable ELT transformations, data quality, and metric delivery via BI and reverse ETL. Focus on building robust, testable data models and establishing standards for monitoring, change management, and performance across OLTP/OLAP sources.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data models using dbt and SQL to support reporting and near-real-time operational metrics.
• Set and enforce technical standards for data modeling, development, testing, and monitoring to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Collaborate with finance, operations, customer success, and marketing to define requirements and deliver reliable data products.
• Integrate data models with BI tools and reverse ETL using repeatable patterns for consistent metric reporting.
• Champion high development standards including source control, code reviews, change management, and data monitoring.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data engineering with a strong focus on transformation in ELT.
• Proven ability to own data products end-to-end, ensuring scalability, robustness, and data quality.
• Experience working with ambiguity and partnering with stakeholders to define requirements with minimal oversight.
• Experience improving data warehouse performance and ETL efficiency.
• Expert-level SQL and dbt for complex queries and transformations.
• Proficiency in Python for transformation work beyond SQL, plus experience with query optimization across OLTP/OLAP systems and cloud environments (GCP or AWS).

Nice to have

• Experience with data ingestion (e.g., Airbyte) and orchestration (e.g., Airflow).
• Domain experience in brokerage operations or strong interest in financial markets and modeling financial datasets.
